An authentic style and thought provoking themes make Icebox a star that is surely going to rise. With songs like “New Order” , a powerful call to action and “Just Do It” a groove-shaking funk piece, Icebox creates a high-energy vibe that appeals to a live audience. Whereas great bands usually have 2 or 3 quality pieces on an individual release, Open The Fridge is deep with quality tracks. “Firestarter” and “It’s Right” are worthy of Title track rank but are found late in the lineup. A pleasant surprise! Look for Icebox to come out of the deep freeze and heat up live venues everywhere as they Release “Open the Fridge” to the world.

Icebox ROCKED House of Blues!!

Icebox Fans,

We want to thank everyone who came out to see our show last night at The House of Blues. There were many familiar faces and some old friends we had not seen in a while. We definitely had the biggest crowd of the night. Somewhere

in the 60-75 range. We sold some Cd’s and shirts as well.

We had a great time even though the stage was a little tight and we were just getting warmed up when we had to let the next act perform. The good news is that they liked us and want us back! Look for another HOB date sometime in

October.

We want to thank Kathyrn Beeks from KPRI 102.1fm for all of her work helping local artists like us get heard out there.

Our next gig is on August 12th at The Second Wind Bar in La Mesa. A great venue with a nice big stage and great sound system.

Hope to see you then and thanks for your continueing support of our music.

Sincerely,

The Band

Song Lyrics

New Order

Lyrics by: Patrick Brown
Music By: Ariel Nuniez, Patrick Brown , David George, Scott Longballa

Verse #1
Crisis brewin in the world today, the temperature is getting hot.
It’s rising every year without enough fear to do a damn thing to stop.
It’s not just about the old USA, we’re in this whole thing together.
We’d better get it all straight before it’s too late, or there’s going to be hell to pay. Yea:
Chorus:
You’d best believe it……..Let’s come together now
Pass the word ‘round……..Let’s act together

Verse #2
Leaders are failing us around the world, there’s no accountability.
They lie to us all, they get called out, but no one ever has to pay.

Meanwhile the future is darkening, for generations to come.
We’d better go green and get real mean, before we block out the Sun, Yea:

Chorus:

You’d best believe it, Let’s come together now……..
Don’t deny it, we see it everywhere.
Take a stand now, to make it Happen…..
Pass the word round, to save our children
SOLO x 2 MEASURES TO BRIDGE, THEN INTRO

Verse #3
A glimmer of hope lays on the horizon, we’d better make sure it grows.
The cost is too great to be just late. We need clean water to flow.
It’s time like these an opportunity arises, for fundamental change.
The power of one inspiring others, the paradigm shift……..Yea

Chorus:
You’d best believe it, Lets come together now……..
Don’t deny it, we see it everywhere.
Take a stand now, to make it happen…..
Pass the word round, to save our children
Get on board now……..Let’s act together
Do you hear me, if so say yea…..Yea!

Wrong Way Street

Music by Ariel Nunez, David George, Scott Longballa
Lyrics by Patrick Brown
Verse 1
Should have known better, Should have been strong
To leave you woman when things first went wrong
But I caved in, gave you one more try
Still doing that now and girl I don’t know why
Gave you my loving
All I could give
Loving you girl’s got me feeling like I’m
Driving down a wrong way street
Driving down a wrong way street, ooh yea
Feeling like a wrong way street
Driving down a wrong way street, ooh child
Verse 2
Fell for you baby, you had my heart
Chemistry smoking, you know from the start
When we made love it felt so right
So into you girl, man I could go all night
It’s never enough for you, you’re never satisfied

The way you’d tear it all down’s
got me feeling like I’m driving down
A wrong way street
Driving down a wrong way street, ooh yea
Feeling like a wrong way street
Got me driving down that wrong way street, ooh child, yea yea!
SOLO
Verse 3
One day baby, not far in time
You’ll realize love like mine is hard to find
All I needed to make things last
Was showing some faith and trust, let go of the past
The sun’s going down on us, light fading fast
All I’ll look back on is that feeling like I’m driving down
A wrong way street
Driving down a wrong way street, ooh yea
Feeling like a wrong way street
Got me driving down a wrong way street, ooh child, yea yea, baby!!

California

Lyrics by: Patrick Brown
Music by: Ariel Nunez, David George, Scott Longballa, Patrick Brown

You can see it in the air of LA
You can taste it in the water you drink'
Subtle changes bringing crisis our way
Seas are rising
Wild is on the brink

Miles of cars are out there jamming the streets
Round the world you know the story is the same
The whole world is looking at the golden state
Time to lead them before it is too late

Chorus
Calfiornia fight the war on climate change
Be the leader time is right to play your part
Fuel the fight for independance from the crude
Time is right now we're depending on you

Bridge
You can be the one who starts to stem the tide
It takes each and everyone to Funk out their ride
You ought to funk your ride
Get out and funk your ride, Yea!

So the earth and our children rejoice
Prove to the world that there's a solution
They will follow and join the revolution

Fuel the fight for independance from the crude
Time is right now we're depending on you

Rise!

Lyrics by: Patrick Brown
Music by: Ariel Nunez, David George, Scott Longballa

Intro:
Gaze across the ocean at the end of the day.
Dark clouds have cleared, from the storm that raged so long.
Golden rays warm my soul, Bring promise of a brand new way
Their inspiration fills me up from the paths that went so wrong….
Verse #1
The time has come to move along, going to take this opportunity
Just one right way to start each day, good things are going to come my way
Mind and body will work as one, with discipline to get things done
It’s all right here. Now it seems so clear. Going to blow right through that pain and fear!
Chorus:
Moving on right now. Going to reach that higher ground. What once had been lost is back! And finally found, yea……
Verse #2
I’m staying true to me and you. Committing now to see things through.
I’ll need your help. Keep me in line. Your love will be rewarded fine.
Building that foundation strong. Moving mountains won’t take long..
It’s all right here. Now it seems so clear.
Rewards worth traveling far and near……….
Chorus:
Moving on right now. Going to reach that higher ground. What once had been lost is back! And finally found, yea……
Solo……….

Chorus:
Moving on right now. Going to reach that higher ground. What once had been lost is back! And finally found, yea……
Verse #3
Going to take this opportunity, yea
Good things are going to come my way….
Going to stay true to me and you, yea
Going to see to a better, better day, yea!

COLD DARK MOON

Music by: Ariel Nunez, David George and Scott Longballa
Lyrics by: Patrick Brown
Verse 1
Cold dark moon of winter rising over me, yea, yea
Cold North winds are blowing in across the sea, yea
Looking back the years gone by, So much left that wasn’t said
Now your spirit’s free to fly, I feel your presence here tonight
You know I see your smile

Chorus
Ooh yea, so much more to live
So much more to love
But a path too dark
For you to carry on

Verse 2
Back when we were younger, life was simple then
The brotherhood, good times we shared, could never end
Times grew tough I couldn’t see just how much you needed me
My world was so far away, could I have done something to make you stay
Now you’re so far away

Chorus
Ooh yea, so much more to live
So much more to love
But a path too dark
For you to carry on

Solo

Verse 3
Cold dark moon of winter rising over me, yea, yea
Cold North winds are blowing in across the sea, yea
I use your love to push me now. You blow the wind to make me smile
Part of your soul’s with me somehow. Shining light along life’s every mile
The wind just makes me smile
Chorus
Ooh yea, so much more to live
So much more to love
But a path too dark
For you to carry on

Highlander

Lyrics by: Patrick brown
Music by: Ariel Nunez, David George, Scott Longballa

Verse #1
She touched me when I first met her, with an imprint so strong it never died.
Kept houndin’ me all these years with sweet temptation; I finally tried.
There’s a place I know where you can go where Mother Nature still rules the land.
Just abide by her every word, and good fortune will fall in your hand.
Chorus:
Sweet Colorado. Breath in blue ski
Sweet Colorado. You should try
Verse #2
If you had your doubts in a higher power, just give me one sunny day of your time.
We’ll turn our skis down Highlands Bowl, you’ll see all that perfection shine!
There’s nothing quite like the feeling when you’re seeing those first flakes fly…
Knowing that it won’t be long ‘til you’re flying down ‘bout touching the sky!
Chorus:
Sweet Colorado. Breath in blue sky
Sweet Colorado. You should try
Sweet Colorado. Breath in blue sky
Sweet Colorado. See that snow flying, yea!
Breakdown
Solo
Verse #3
So if you think you’ve had enough of that city life, it’s time for a change.
She’ll come to you like a long lost friend, who never forgot your name, yea!
Chorus:
Sweet Colorado. Breath in blue sky
Sweet Colorado. You should try
Sweet Colorado. Breath in blue sky
Sweet Colorado. See that snow flying, yea!

BEAUTY

Music by Ariel Nunez, David George, Scott Longballa
Lyrics by: Patrick Brown

Verse #1

When she first arrived you know it made me stay up all night
I was stressed. There was no sleep, I was hurting for a guiding light
Three months went by, you know she suddenly smiled at me
Instantly my life, my world flipped over, new born responsibility

Chorus
Such a Beauty
She’ll turn your whole world upside down for sure!!

Verse #2

Never shy when presented with new social opportunities
Breaks the ice with a hammer, violating space with ease
Costello and Kraull could not deny the talent of her charm
The twins and her were chilling on the beaches of Kona,
basking in good fortunes arms.

Chorus
Such a beauty
She’ll turn your whole world upside down for sure

Breakdown

She changes clothes ten times a day
Comes home in her friends clothes each time they play
But I love her anyway

Solo

Chorus
Such a beauty
She’ll turn your whole world upside down for sure

Verse #3

Just a matter of time, her independent ways would gather hold
Charm and intellect flying, could one hope to ever be so bold
Despite all of my flaws, you know she loves me like she’s my best friend.
Simple and pure we seek adventure, we’ll be together ‘till my end!

McClure Pass

Lyrics by: Patrick Brown
Music by: Patrick Brown, Ariel Nunez, David George, Scott Longballa

Verse #1
Gazing out from Stefan’s back porch. To the peaks of the West Elk Range.
Got to travel across McClure Pass today, winds of Mother Nature have me feeling strange, yea…
Passing Redstone, the snow is picking up. Turn “The Panic” up a little ‘bit higher.
Clouds are dark in the sky where I’m climbing. Little uneasy, but something’s got me smiling, yea!
Chorus:
There’s a storm outside. The snow is flying.
Got to keep on climbing. I’m going to make it to my uncle’s tonight!
Verse #2
Driving up on the first sign of life. Trooper waiving at me with an eerie smile.
He has that gate closing behind me. Wish he’d travel along for the next ten miles, yea….
Snow is turning day into white. Tracks are vanishing before my eyes.
Three thousand feet straight down to my side. Barely clinging to this mountainside, yea!

Chorus:
Breakdown half-time 8 measures
He moved out from East Oklahoma
Right after the Korean War
Had never lived off the land
Committed his life to the chore
The early days were ruff
The Winters cold and cruel
He came to embrace the life
It gave his spirit Fuel!!!!
16 measure solo
Verse # 3
Music is off now its crisis time. When do I stop to save my self.
Can’t go much more, my back end’s tailing. Keep my speed up, got to pull this one out. Yea!
Just when I think that I’ve run out of time. Something’s peering through that snowy light.
The summit’s there, I’ve made it this time. Good grace of God smiling in my mind, Yea!

It’s Right

Music by Ariel Nunez, David George, and Scott Longballa
Lyrics by Patrick Brown

Verse 1
Should have seen it coming, the day that we first met
That we’d be together, the others just forget
IT’S RIGHT, YOU SEE IT
IT’S RIGHT
Verse 2
First I tried to fight it, taking that next leap
In you I saw the right traits, to promise and to keep
IT’S RIGHT, YOU FEEL IT
IT’S RIGHT
Bridge:
Too many people lose sight of those traits that matter
Dig a little deeper and you'll find the one you bond with most
Verse 3
Now it’s ten years gone by, our bond is tried and true
Commitment to our children, and nurturing them through
IT’S RIGHT, YOU SEE IT
IT’S RIGHT, YOU FEEL IT
IT’S RIGHT, YOU’LL KNOW IT
IT’S RIGHT, DON’T YOU KNOW IT’S RIGHT!!

FIRE STARTER

Lyrics by: Patrick Brown
Music by: Ariel Nunez, David George, Scott Longballa

Verse #1
Feel that music in your body
Feel that groovin’ in your soul
We are here to start this party
We want you to lose control
Time to leave your cares behind you
Leave them for another day
Let that rockin rhythm find you
Get up on your feet and play…..

Chorus
Oh yeah, yeah… come on baby….
Tonight’s the night to let it all hang proud
Oh yeah, yeah… get on your feet and dance and fell that power!

Verse #2
Someone’s standing there beside you
Someone that you want to know
Let them know just how you’re feeling
It’s your turn to let it show……
We’ll keep this place really pumping
Show yourself for all to see
Let this night turn into something
Dancing proud and feeling free

Chorus
Oh yeah, yeah… come on baby….
Tonight’s the night to let your soul run wild!
Oh yeah, yeah… get on your feet and dance and fell that power!
SOLO
BRIDGE

Verse # 3
You work hard to make your money
Now it’s time to have some fun
Join us in this rockin party
Don’t stop groovin ‘til we’re done

Dave is thumpin on that bass now
Ariel’s on his guitar
Scott is poundin on the skins
I ‘m singing to you like a star

Chorus
Oh yeah, yeah… come on baby….
Tonight’s the night to let it all hang proud
Oh yeah, yeah… get on your feet and dance and fell that power!
Oh yeah, yeah… come on baby….
Tonight’s the night to let you soul run wild
Oh yeah, yeah… get on your feet and dance and fell that power!
